Privacy 4 INTRODUCTION Examiners tend to set general essays in this area, rather than problem questions, although the latter do arise from time to time. The emphasis is often on the degree to which a balance is struck between the interest of the State and other bodies in intruding on the individual, or in obtaining and publishing personal information, and the interest of the individual in maintaining personal privacy and the privacy of personal information. These two areas of privacy can be broken down into bodily and sexual privacy, the privacy of the home, access to personal information and the protection of personal information.
