ABSTRACT
A second source of skepticism with regard to the group model of Japanese society is the methodology used by its proponents. The conflicting findings presented in the preceding chapter raise a number of issues about criteria for asserting that one image of a society is better than another in terms of factual accuracy. Although correctness in this regard is not the only standard for judging the full validity of an image or theory of society, it is an important consideration.
