ABSTRACT

ON JUNE 21 the Committee of the British School determined that, looking at the prospects in Egypt, it was now desirable to transfer our work to the Egyptian sites in Palestine-Egypt over the Border. The exhibition of Miss Caton-Thompson's and Dr. Sandford's results was during July. After the British Association at Oxford in August we went to Cardigan, as the district was one that required examination. For three weeks, with my son, I planned all the stone and earth works within ten miles around, helped by information from Mr. Hemp, the Inspector of Monuments. The wide area of the inspectorships leaves scope for collaboration in remote parts. Ancient Egypt, of course, claimed a good deal of time as usual.
