ABSTRACT
Peonies, wisteria, iris and morning-glories also appear in May. Peonies are displayed indoors, but their popularity is slight com-
pared to that of other flowers in the country. This fact is due to the resemblance to ghostly spirits attributed to them. Some giant blossoms unfold a spread of eighteen inches, being really rich and gorgeous. Unlike our peonies they have no odor, but, like ours, they are usually pink or white.
