Challenging the Patriarchal National Security Paradigm: The Role of Ethiopian Women in Peace and Security

It is obvious that the human security problems are mainly driven from the state’s monopoly of violence, which is imposed by the patriarchal order of suspicion and paranoia under the cover of the protection of national security. This in turn emphasizes the security of the state at the expense of the security of individual citizens. When a state focuses on national security it compromises the security of individuals, particularly women.
