ABSTRACT
The Annals of Lu (Ch'un ch'iu) begin in the year 722 b.c. Ssu-ma Ch'ien gives dates as far back as 841 b.c. (opening of the period Kong-ho). He goes back further than the Ch'un ch'iu, basing his work on the lists of reigns furnished with indications of their duration.
