ABSTRACT

Ethnography focuses on understanding what people believe and think, and how they live their daily lives. It is used to answer questions about people’s beliefs, rituals, attitudes, actions, stories and behaviors, emphasizing what people actually do rather than what they say they do. Grounded in the concept of culture, ethnography was first associated with anthropology and involved long-term field research observing activities and behaviors and interacting with people from different cultures. Researchers originally lived and worked consistently with members of other cultures for many months or years.
