A recent find of arrow-heads in a Marne burial has settled the much disputed question as to whether the bow was used in Gaul.ll

One usually thinks of the Gauls in helmets with plumes and horns. The arch at Orange shows these,7 but only one actual specimen exists, and it is not like them. It is a bronze helm found in the Thames at Waterloo Bridge (Fig. 4, No.4},8 and consists of a plain metal cap with two conical horns. The helmets represented on the Gundestrup cauldron have analogies with this specimen.9
