Producers in the Later Twenties

There was a depression in British film production between the years 1924 and 1927, when the old guard of producers were weeded out and the ground was cleared for more highly capitalized companies with modern business methods and a modern style of production. During the next few years the industry was to be transformed, first by the quota legislation and then by sound film production.
