ABSTRACT
IN due course I received the offer of an appointment to a ship in the Persian Gulf. Of all the officers and men who were appointed I suppose I was by far the most keen, for once again I could gather up my threads of evidence and examine them off the shores of the land which was most likely to hold Ophir secrets.
