ABSTRACT
SOME details are given in this chapter of the principal ports and inland towns which fall within the limits laid down in Chapter 1. Of the ports, which are described first, only those of the Arabian coast are dealt with, those of the African coast having been given their general setting in Chapter III. No rule has been followed in the selection of the smaller towns for description, and lack of recent information has curtailed the list.
