ABSTRACT

To the 'intellectuals' on both sides of the Atlantic the work of Mr. William Faulkner has appeared much more profound than that of Mr. Sinclair Lewis. With Light in August Mr. Faulkner will be proclaimed by them a more significant novelist than his senior.
