ABSTRACT
In our introductory chapter we argued that more historical information – more attention to the particular historical experience of individual nations – was needed to understand better the modern health transition (including the double disease burden) in countries of the Asia-Pacific region. We believe our contributors have gone a long way towards achieving that goal.
