ABSTRACT

By-and-by Hugdietrich became of an age to marry, and his faithful guardian straightway set about finding a princess for him. One princess only, Hildburg, daughter of Walgund of Thessalonica, seemed to unite all the required advantages of birth, beauty, and wealth. But unfortunately the father of this princess was averse to her marrying, and to prevent her from having any lovers he had locked her up in an isolated tower, where none but women were ever admitted.
