ABSTRACT
Employment legislation is one of the more complex areas of law affecting employers so this chapter needs to be viewed as a very brief overview intended to illustrate its scope rather than its detail, particularly as such legislation is subject to constant change. Major areas of employment law have been selected and summarized below. Before looking at these, however, it is important to define an ‘employee’.
