Universal publicly funded basic healthcare in Australia and New Zealand

Compared to Singapore, both Australia and New Zealand rely much more on public funding, and both provide universal access to healthcare. In this respect Australia and New Zealand appear closer to the UK than the Singapore model. However, like Singapore, Australia and New Zealand depend very much on the private healthcare market to provide primary healthcare services. Australia has both public and private hospitals, with the former accounting for more than twice as many inpatient days as the latter.
