ABSTRACT

At one time, I resisted the idea of using Twitter-with passion. I was already feeling over-committed to the number of social networks I had joined and was feeling excited about many new tools I was using. For the life of me, I could not justify why I would want to use a tool that was going to spit out up to 140-character message updates about what people are doing. Really? Me a “tweeter”? What was I going to do? Follow Justin Timberlake? I had written Twitter off as an annoying, immature, superficial nuisance that clearly would add no value to my existence.
