ABSTRACT

In the last two chapters we discussed a wide range of business entrepreneurs who have built financial wealth. In this chapter we explore how entrepreneurs can also build social wealth and present examples of people who have made a difference by helping others. In many cases a ‘business’ is involved. These people are entrepreneurs because they possess the characteristics of an entrepreneur; they identify and engage an important opportunity; they gather the necessary resources; they start and develop an initiative; and they have an important impact on our lives. They simply have a strong social facet which affects their other characteristics in an important and meaningful way.
