ABSTRACT

The content of this chapter may be considered either as advice to give students before they start writing their chapters or as areas of feedback that often need to be addressed once the draft of a chapter has been submitted. Over the years, I have tended to focus more on coherence issues once I see the type of argument my students produce. Thus, the focus is more on feedback. Nevertheless, I do always alert them to the importance of creating coherent text when advice is given about the content and argument structure of a chapter before they turn their table of contents into text.
