A Board Games

(i) Confrontation An international cns1s with the threatened use of nuclear weapons. Secondary pupils, up to three hours. Possibly for whole class if working in two to four groups. Devised by Philmar. (ii) Conservation Published by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, this board game, lasting one hour, is designed to show the difficulties facing bird life in Britain. The aim is to make conservations i.e. a set of male, female and young of the same species in an appropriate environment. Ingenious. From 7 years of age upwards. By Gosford Games. (iii) Diplomacy Large board game, for seven players, representing a European country in 1901. The aim is to gain control over the majority of Europe both diplomatically and militarily. Simple rules but cheating, rumours and breaking alliances are encouraged. Takes about four hours. All ages. By Philmar.
