ABSTRACT

Most of the examples of games so far presented have been drawn from the areas of personal relationships and decision-making on environmental problems. As we have already noted, the same techniques are now being used in most subjects of the curriculum. This chapter looks at mathematics and science to demonstrate how this work might be carried out, first with children of primary age, starting with familiar games, such as snakes and ladders and dice, and leading on to a more advanced approach for older pupils.
