ABSTRACT

In the regions, many private businesses are tightly connected to their local communities. One reason is that people in the regions cannot live without help from other community members. For disaster prevention, keeping safe, maintaining the infrastructure and public services, carrying out fishing and farming, and so on, regional people need to support each other across many scenarios. Particularly in resource-poor rural regions experiencing aging and depopulation, people must work together in order to survive. In this sense, establishing a business in a rural region cannot be separated from considerations of the design of regional community and the development of a whole community economy.
