ABSTRACT
The gradual liberalization of France's trade policy has been under way for over two decades. The reaction from French producers and civil society, as well as certain governmental institutions, has been strong, reflecting concerns not only about farmers in France and elsewhere in Europe, but also in relation to farmers in developing countries who have been negatively affected by ‘neoliberalism’.
