Kingsley Fairbridge was a man whose unquestioning, selfless devotion to an idea lifted him entirely above the common run, one of those warriors of the sighting brain, whose lives are a song and a star to lead their generation. To know him was an inspiration and a privilege. How great that privilege I only fully understood when I read this simple self-revelation ofhis heroic soul.6
