ABSTRACT

This Conclusion draws upon the lessons learned from the previous chapters, to examine the current international intellectual property regime and its possible reform in the context of the participatory patent bargain. The role of the participatory patent bargain is explored in relationship to three categories—power, coherence, and change—that have proven necessary for structuring the politics of a mature international intellectual property order. The participatory patent bargain offers the potential of a disruptive conceptual framework in patent law.
