ABSTRACT

A mathematical knotis a loop embedded in ordinary 3-dimensional Euclidean space ℝ3 . Less formally, a knot is a geometric idealization of a loop made by tying a physical knot in a physical rope, then splicing the ends of the rope to each other. The 2-bridge knots are particularly well understood; they include the trivial knot, figure-8 knot, trefoil knot and others illustrated below. In this chapter, we model minds by special 2-bridge knots that we call mind-knots.
