ABSTRACT
The second adverb zài is interchangeable with ✊ৢ ránhòu ‘then,’ as in example 16c.
16c ta xian chc-fàn, ránhòu kàn-xcnwén ‘She will first eat, then watch the news.’
When there is a series of actions, zài and ránhòu may appear before the second and the third verbs as in 16d. Another adverb, ᳔ৢ zuìhòu ‘finally’ may be used for the last action, as in 16e.
