ABSTRACT

Note that an adverb such as ᐌᐌ chángcháng ‘often,’ or ᘏᰃ zIngshì ‘always,’ as well as the chronological time expression (time-when), such as ↣໽ᰮϞ mGitiAn wFnshang ‘every evening,’ or ᯳ᳳ໽ xCngqCtiAn ‘Sunday,’ stand before the ೼ zài-location phrase; and in turn the zài-location stands before the main verb phrase of the sentence. On the other hand, the durational time expression (time-spent), i.e. the time indicating the length of the activity, stands after the main verb phrase.
