ABSTRACT
It is well to keep in mind the conception of society as a network of relations, with individuals as units, in discussing the organization of Suye Mura and the changes it is undergoing. We shall thus avoid the fallacy of thinking of the community as having a substance independent of its constituent members. This community or network of individuals having social relations does, however, possess a persisting structural form which is more constant than the ever-changing elements of the structure itself (e.g. changes brought about by birth and death, immigration and emigration). It is the changing relations affecting the structural form which are to be dealt with in this chapter.
