ABSTRACT

Since I last addressed your Lordship, I have had the pleasure of meeting both my sisters, at Chorley, whom I had not seen for several years, and am desired to express their grateful thanks for the present your Lordship was pleased to send for the one who has had her hand crushed in the machinery. She feels herseif highly honoured by your Lordship’ s notice of her misfortune. While I stayed at Chorley, I had not many opportunities (in consequence of the bad state of the weather) of observing the con dition of the factory people.
