ABSTRACT

Within the data collected it has been possible to relate the scores of families on the social status scale to some other variables. These analyses illustrate the influence of the pattern of room use on score, and show that the scale is independent of the age and composition of the family. Further analyses show the relationship between scores of families who own and rent their houses, relate the quality of the house to the status of the occupants, show the effect of the interest of husband and wife on the home and its score, and relate status to provision for the child in the home.
