ABSTRACT
THE Lathams were aglow with anticipations when they started manufacturing projection machines and pictures for the market in the early summer of 1895. High hopes had been kindled by what they deemed to be their laboratory successes. They did not know that equivalent attainments in film projection were even then being attained and discarded by more patient contemporaries.
