It was a part of this same viewpoint and the desire to sell more machines which had made him oppose the coming of the screen machine which could show pictures to a whole audience at once. He had sold some hundreds of peep show Kinetoscopes, and he thought that fifty projection machines would be ample to cover the world with screen pictures.
