ABSTRACT
T his chapter contains an account of the most important case of transaction in stock as a concrete example of the operation of relations between stock-associates, both those within the extended family and all others. The payment of bridewealth involves the essence of the principles of stock-ownership and of all the relationships in which reciprocal rights over stock are important, both on the side of the giver of the animals and on the side of the receivers.
