ABSTRACT
This is not an academic treatise; rather it is an attempt to show the benefits which the palms confer upon the native. They almost seem to have been created to meet his needs, for there is no tree which, in itself, has so many uses since every part is of value, timber, leaves, sap and fruit. The account given here concerns those palm trees that are in constant demand for one purpose or another.
