ABSTRACT

Anselm argued for the existence of a Greatest Conceivable Being (GCB). 1 Anselm’s argument for a GCB relies on a contingent truth. It assumes that the Fool understands something. We shall see that if the argument at its best is a success, then all contingency is eliminable. A GCB would have to exist. If a GCB has to exist, then there couldn’t have been nothing.
