ABSTRACT
THE Chagga people have a store of fairy-tales and legends, a great number of which have already been published. l I will add only a few more which seem to me of particular interest, and are in the nature of myths surviving as historical facts or religious truths in the minds of the people. They are best written as nearly as possible in the form they have been told to the writer.
