ABSTRACT

No organisation operates in isolation in today’s global and competitive business environment as numerous actors or agents are involved in its innovation processes and activities (Drucker, 1999 ; Svetina and Prodan, 2008 ; Barber, 2009 ). This chapter discusses the importance of harnessing the brain power of human resources, suppliers, clients and stakeholders to enhance and improve the innovation process within an organisation. Flexible thinking, agility, intelligence and trust are key elements in this regard. The benefi ts of a holistic view of organisations validates the important role of networks, systems, interconnections and feedback loops in harnessing creativity and fostering excellence where organisational innovation is concerned.
