ABSTRACT

Part I of this report attempted to clarify the concept of prospective analysis and its position in the sphere of future studies. It also presented a brief survey of the present status of Arab thought, as well as its database and methods, and outlined the nature of the contemporary Arab problem. It then presented the various future scenarios, as conceived in Arab thought and aspirations, and formulated a set of criteria to determine the fields to be examined in our reassessment of the Arab past and present in preparation for an analysis of future prospects.
