ABSTRACT
IT was now time to take a rest, the first portion of ourwork being completed, stations having been established,mail routes maintained, and vessels running regularly around the lake, keeping up communication with the coast. Five years of rough living and exacting duty were leaving their mark on me, and a furlough home became necessary.
