ABSTRACT

In schizophrenias controlled by attacking the environment, defenses against acting out hostility have been overwhelmed. Catatonic mania occurs when the loss of control of motility leads not to stupor, but to destructiveness, as in the following case of Alvin. Attacking paranoia occurs when delusions and personality types coalesce to make acts of destruction not only logical, but necessary for salvation, as in the case of Ernesto below.
