ABSTRACT

This type of communication involves speaking to each other. Always speak clearly without any long pauses as this may be uncomfortable. Ensure that your conversation is not too complicated; simplify if you need to so that the client is not confused by any hairdressing jargon. You will need to ask questions to fi nd out exactly what it is the client would like. The client may fi nd it easier to show you a picture of their ideas. Visual aids are very useful in conveying this information. They should be given time to think about what you have said and then reply to you. Clarify the information the client is giving you at regular times during the conversation.
