ABSTRACT
HAVING considered the background and organisation of moral welfare work we now turn to the work itself, and in this and the two succeeding chapters propose to describe in some detail the outdoor work, residential work and educational work carried out by moral welfare workers in the two dioceses in which the fieldwork was undertaken. The description is based on the observations made and discussions held during the three years of the fieldwork, 1958, 1959 and 1960, and does not take into account changes which may have occurred since.
