ABSTRACT
ANY account of the Banking System of India must necessarily acknowledge its very great indebtedness to Mr. J. M. Keynes' Indian Currency and Finance, published just before the Great War. In this famous work will be found a chapter on Indian Banking in which the author describes the system and makes certain observations. How true many of those observations' were will appear in the following pages.
