ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we will examine the idea that, “Design is born at the interface of aesthetics and pedagogy.” We will provide an overview of our current educational climate, with a focus on Steve Jobs and his vision for the future of education, and see how we can design for this new generation. Inspired by Deleuze and Guattari, we will also provide a new model or image of thought, which will help guide us through this emerging digital landscape. Lastly, we will describe our general thoughts on the process of design, and lay out some specifics of designing for children.
