Cuirass makers (hanren 函人)

Cuirass makers (han ren ¹ ) make armors. The rhinoceros-hide armors (xijia ² ) are of seven links, one over another; the wild animal si-hide armors (sijia ³ ) are of six links; and the joined-hide armors (hejia ⁴ ), made of two hides together, are of five links (zhu ⁵ ). The rhinoceros-hide armors last 100 years; the wild animal si-hide armors, 200 years; the co-hide armors, 300 years.
