ABSTRACT
The writer has had decreasing contact with Girls' Approved Schools since 1958. Some of the success/failure figures for this research extend beyond this point. News also filters through, and certain evidence presents itself in the form of posts advertised in the service. The following table has been compiled for six complete years of posts for Headmistresses and Deputy Headmistresses, advertised in the Approved Schools Gazette which is a monthly publication. This may not be a complete list; on the other hand there may be over-estimates if the same vacancy was advertised after a considerable gap, without meantime being filled. <italic>Advertising for Head Posts</italic>
