Modern apprenticeships provide paid employment, practical training, and further education. During the apprenticeship, trainees must study for NVQ and Key Skills, and a Technical Certificate, such as City and Guilds or BTEC. There are two levels of apprenticeships: foundation
for beginners e the training and education programme normally lasts for approximately 1 year, and the advanced apprenticeship, which lasts for approximately 2 years.
