ABSTRACT
This book addresses how language ideologies are reproduced and challenged, sometimes simultaneously, through linguistic practices. Embedded in this topic is the analysis of how macro ideologies contribute to the construction of social identities. Both ideologies and identities are shown to be discursively constructed.
