ABSTRACT
We have given both an understanding of why history is an important curriculum area for children and a rationale as to why the teaching and learning should be done in and through the local. We have considered in earlier chapters the resources available in the local and how to use them to make learning meaningful and relevant. This chapter brings together that understanding and our approach, and offers the reader a way to plan and implement the resulting practice with children.
